In September 2023, the WRO organized a Girls Robotics Camp for the first time. In the mountains above Elm GL, 27 girls aged between 8 and 14 came together to spend a weekend learning about robotics.
They included girls who were holding a robot in their hands for the first time ever and girls who are representing Switzerland in international competitions this year. While the former were learning the basics, the latter were working on advanced programming concepts.
In the second part of the camp, the participants worked on projects in small groups. They had adapted old WRO competition tasks to choose from, on which they could test their newfound knowledge, and there was a small competition at the end.
