In addition to the members of our association, our regional competition partners and many volunteers are involved in organizing our WRO competitions during a WRO season. Over 50 volunteers are involved in our Swiss final as referees, jury members and other helpers. In total, there are over 150 volunteers who support us during the WRO season.

Helper at WRO competitions

Support one of our regional WRO competitions or take part in the Swiss final. A WRO competition takes place on one day, usually on Saturdays. The following options show how you can get involved:

Referee

Judges evaluate a robot ride over a course in the Regular category. No special prior knowledge is required for this, as preparation we offer a briefing on the rules of the competition and the tasks to be judged before the day of the competition. Here are the details and the job profile.

Jury member

Jury members evaluate teams and their self-constructed robots. Teams present their robot model in the form of a presentation (film). Questions can still be asked during the competition day. Jury members receive information on the evaluation at a jury meeting before the day of the competition.

Helpers of all kinds

For our Swiss final in particular, we need many more helping hands, e.g. for setting up and dismantling, in the scoring office, welcoming the teams, running the kiosk, catering and serving food, as photographers and filmmakers or technical specialists for networking, sound or lighting matters, etc.

Involvement in the preparation of a WRO season

The organization of the WRO has now become a year-round task. Our association members contribute their various skills (e.g. developing surprise tasks, as course leaders for teachers and coaches, creating timetables, developing our online systems, designing flyers and brochures, supporting projects, introducing new forms of competition, maintaining the homepage and much more) or help with many other tasks (e.g. mailshots, presenting the WRO at trade fairs). If you would like to support us in the long term, please contact us and become a member of our association.
