In the WRO Starter category, there is only direct qualification. The number of qualification places per Regional Competition depends on the number of teams actually present at that location:

| 1 to 5 teams | The best team qualifies for the Swiss final. |
| 6 or more teams | The two best teams qualify for the Swiss final. |
Succession regulation
If a team that has qualified is unable to take part in the Swiss final, the next best team in the same competition will move up. Please let us know by 31 May at the latest if you are unable to take part so that the organizers and the teams moving up can plan!
