Does a wheel necessarily have to touch the safe area, or is it sufficient if any part of the robot touches the area?

Many teams are very quick when they pick up the robot to reposition it. The referees often don’t see exactly whether the robot has actually touched the safe area or not.

For this reason, rule #6 from the special rules for WRO Starters applies: “During a competition run, the team may touch/grip the robot if at least one wheel touches a safe area. The black lines do not count.”

This is because it is clear to see whether a wheel was in the area or not.
