The start of the season was difficult because we were rusty and had to remember how to do it again. Once we had warmed up, things didn’t go badly. We met regularly on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. When the big day was upon us, we were ready to win!!! When we finally arrived at the Regional Competition after the long car ride, the excitement rose to 100%. When the first construction phase began, we had a lot of fun. It was more fun than exhausting. When it was time for lunch, we all went outside where the food was waiting for us. As we were all eating burgers and fries, the fire department suddenly came by with flashing blue lights and sirens and stormed the building. But there was no fire. Relief, as it was a false alarm.

The award ceremony : Everyone gathered and the award ceremony was announced. The tension grew. Only five teams took part at Elementary. Fifth place was announced, then fourth we still weren’t called. Third place went to King Robotik! Second place goes to SmartBot! We won the regional competition!!! with a gold medal.

After the regional competition we continued practicing until the final (again every Wednesday to Friday).

The Swiss final: In the morning we had to get up at 6 a.m. and then drove for an hour and a half. When we finally arrived, it was already very crowded. After we had settled into our seats, we were given the surprise task. Then the first runs began. After the first two runs there was a lunch break. We had pasta with sauce. After lunch was the third race and then they explained the afternoon challenges to us:

It was heavier than it looked in the photo.

1: Move the green seedlings to the white area.
2: Remove the contaminated water from the water tower.
3: Bring the clean water into the water area.
4: Make a fruit salad from three different types of fruit.
5: Bring the fertile soil into the vegetable beds.
6: Do not move fences.

We have decided to do the seedlings (1:) first. Because it seemed very light. It was quite difficult but we mastered it. Then we wanted to mix the fruit salad (4:) together, but that’s when the problems started. The robot simply didn’t want to obey us. We fucked up the challenge in good German. That’s why we ended up in 12th place and received an ice cream as a prize.
