In addition to the members of our association, our regional competition partners and many volunteers are involved in organizing our WRO competitions during a WRO season. Over 60 volunteers are involved in our Swiss final as referees, jury members and other helpers. In total, there are over 160 volunteers who support us during the WRO season.

Mithelfen bei einem Wettbewerb
The WRO competitions are all about the children and young people who have spent months preparing for the big day. But nothing works without helping hands.
Referee for RoboMission, Future Innovators, WRO Starter
Judges evaluate a robot run on the game field in the corresponding competition category. No special prior knowledge is required for this; we offer a briefing on the rules and tasks before the day of the competition. Here are the details and the job profile.
RobotDesign Jury
At the Swiss final, a prize will be awarded for the best robot design in each age group in the RoboMission category. As a jury member, you will assess the robots and evaluate them in terms of functionality, efficiency and innovation. You also get to talk to the teams, who explain their design to you.
Future Innovators Jury
In the Future Innovators category, teams work on a research project and develop a prototype for a robotic solution that addresses a real-world problem. In the competition, they present their solution to the jury and the audience. As a jury member, you evaluate the team in terms of the idea and the project as a whole, the quality of the robot and the code, and the impact that implementing the project could have on society. This is an exciting and challenging task that also requires some preparation time.
Helper in the background
For our Swiss final in particular, we need many more helping hands, e.g. for setting up and dismantling, in the scoring office, welcoming the teams, running the kiosk, catering and serving food, as photographers and filmmakers or technical specialists for networking, sound or lighting matters, etc.
Helping to prepare for the season
In addition to volunteers who take part in a single event, we also need people who are committed to the WRO throughout the year. Möglichkeiten zum Engagement finden sich in folgenden Bereichen:
- Communications (Webseite and Social Media)
- Design (Flyers and posters)
- Preparation of tasks (translations, surprise tasks and afternoon challenges)
- Organization and implementation of workshops (for children and teachers)
- Coordination with regional partners and representation of WRO Switzerland at the regional competitions
- Creating schedules
- Board of the association
- and many more.
